Worth A Thousand Words

It’s been said that a picture is worth a thousand words and that can truly be said of “Jazz in the Courtyard.”

If scenes could talk, the Sunday evening “Jazz in the Courtyard” at the Historic Douglass Theatre in downtown Macon would describe itself as the following: an electrifying, exciting, delightful gathering of diverse Middle Georgia citizens coming together for a collective, eclectic, positively synergistic evening of awesome music and sound courtesy of some the best that contemporary and traditional jazz has to offer. Man! Talk about a mouthful.

Since scenes CAN’T talk… then let these photos from a recent set of the annual summer event speak for “Jazz in the Courtyard.” A community favorite, it is considered by some as Macon’s coolest outdoor music series!

Vocalist Kim Polote was the featured artist, and she and her band didn’t disappoint. She was a fitting finale for the series that kicked off in May with the Ken Trimmins Jazz Quartet and continued in June with Monte Cole’s Quintet. Best of all, “Jazz in the Courtyard” was free thanks to Georgia Power.

If you missed it in 2014, then check out how it went down in these pics. May they hold you until the series returns this summer. Enjoy!
