THANK GOD! I was very worried this was the WRONG HORRIBLE STUPID 2004 Version of this amazing 1981 Horror Slasher Flick staring the beautiful Melissa Sue Anderson. 💕💕💕 WE CAN ALL BREATHE A HUGE SIGH OF RELIEFE for everyone afraid to purchase this version THINKING it was the wrong version with the LAME ABSURD soundtrack that sounded like the keystone capers Rated G! This movie is awesome! Great Cast! good tiny bit of comedy (but not too much) dark humor if you will... this movie is LONG but this actually tells a story within a story etc. etc. GREAT KILLS! this is just as 80's as it gets! the twisted finale will have you jaw dropped! i recall the audience back on opening night in 1981 EVERYONE SCREAMING! will you scream? NO i doubt it but boy was it fun to live that moment watching this movie. just enjoy it and hopefully you smirk and smile watching this beloved 1981 horror flick. it is definitely not a non-stop action filled horror movie but just go into knowing this actually tells a story (one that i'm not going to give away) JUST WATCH IT! HAPPY BLOODY BIRTHDAY!

I bought this movie years ago on VHS. It didn't have the original soundtrack to it. I was just wondering if this has it. Some of the movie was filmed where I live and that's the main reason it has a place in my heart.

This film is simply amazing! It had Everything a 1980 slasher film could deliver and added thin strips of scary suspense to the film! My second favorite movie.

This film, along with the likes of "The Burning," "My Bloody Valentine" and "House on Sorority Row," are just a handful of the great slasher films released in the wake of "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th." This film is so odd in terms of character and kill scenes that it keeps your interest. Oh, and the ending is creepy.

Happy Birthday to Me has got to be one of the longest slasher movies in cinema history. For the record I have the version released by Anchor Bay or the original version. The music by the way is very odd but fits the mood of the film; while the main theme that plays over the closing credits is just creepy and by the way was released by Motown. Yes there are more plot twist and turns than Mulholland Hwy; but with the finale the ends don't quite justify the means. If you are a gore hound than this isn't the movie for you. But if you like some (and by that I mean a lot of) stroy in your slasher flick this is a goldmine. Now since most 80's slasher flick are measured against Halloween (1978) how does this rate you ask? Well not quite in the same league; it does hold up even at almost 2 hrs.

I've not seen this movie in years..., that is until I saw recent clippings of it on youtube. Even to this day, its still a bit "TOO SHOCKING" to imagine a young Lauren Fenmore~Baldwin(Y&R) as an envious sibling rebellious serial killer, WoW!

This is not your guts hanging out, blood on the walls, ripping bodys apart and spreading them all over the floor movie. This is how they were made back in the day when fear was the way of horror, and who did it was the final chapter. This is a really good horror flick. I first saw this in a movie theatre when I was young. I am glad to see that we can still enjoy a good horror film. Get ready to enjoy a good twist... in more ways than one.
