Description

Patrick Swayze, John Leguizamo and Wesley Snipes star in this hilarious adventure about three transvestites on the cross-country road trip of a lifetime. On their way to Hollywood for a drag queen beauty pageant, Vida (Swayze), Chi Chi (Leguizamo) and Noxeema (Snipes) get stranded in the tiny Midwestern town of Snydersville. Determined to make the best of a bad situation, the “girls” set out to repair the broken hearts, broken dreams and broken nails of the small-town residents during one wildly outrageous weekend.

You don’t need to do drag or be LGBTQ to enjoy this film. Anyone can enjoy this film. It’s absolutely hilarious, and very entertaining.

When I saw this movie on sale for only a dollar higher than renting it I just outright bought it hoping it would be an enjoyable watch. I can’t say I didn’t get any enjoyment out of it exactly but I was vastly disappointed. Admittedly the main actors do a good job but the movie’s potential was ruined by simply bad writing. Instead of cute I found one of the main characters downright annoying and some parts of the movie feel forced. The level of cringe is also off the charts and while some scenes were funny most… weren’t. Sadly I had also just watched The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert which didn’t help as while they’re similar Priscilla shows how good this movie could have been if it had a remotely better script. Honestly I can’t say it’s 100% not worth watching but don’t expect a million laughs.

My husband my kids and I totally LOVE this movie! To see Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo dress up as drag queens was cute and awesome. They did a wonderful job with the makeup and clothing. I think they looked very beautiful. This movie had a great story line to it as well. I applaud these 3 men in a job well done. I have to say though the transformation of John Leguizamo at the end was kick a**! Very beautiful and elegant. It’s worth buying and watching over and over.

I love this movie. One of my all-time favorites. One problem with the iTunes description, though. They were not transvestites. They were drag queens. There is a difference.
  • Absolutely love it!!!!!!!!

This cult classic is a necessary addition to any movie collection. Full of wit, sass, and fun three drag queens show us what can happen when you fully embrace the fabulous being you are.

What will it take for y'all to put the soundtrack on iTunes. I lost my copy of the soundtrack in Katrina. I am slowly trying to re-accumulate my music library and this is missing along with volume one of the Animaniacs so I'll be leaving a comment there too. Please fix this!!!!
