The Shield: The Complete Collection

Excellent show

This series is a fictionalized version of the real-life scandal involving the CRASH anti-gang task force of the Rampart division in the late 1990s. The scandal implicated 70 police officers who were either aware of the corruption or were direct participants. The crimes included unprovoked beatings and killings of suspects, drug theft, drug trafficing, bank robbery, and obstruction. Members of the unit were also moonlighting as lavishly overpaid security for Death Row Records, which was affiliated with the Bloods street gang. Four of the officers were suspected to have either been complicit or directly involved in the assassination of the rapper Notorious B.I.G. The focus of the series is on the central figure among the corrupt copss. As with The Sopranos, the audience is led to focus on the anti-hero who commits terrible crimes, including murder, and always gets away with it. As such, it teases the audience, leaving them frustrated but always eager to come back for more. This is maintained for seven seasons, ending with a satisfying conclusion. At the (current) iTunes price of three episodes for a buck, one may prepare for a hefty 68 hours of bingeing for an extremely low price..

Gripping performances from the cast especially Vic Mackey, Michael Chiklis!!! And he was such a ‘good guy’ in The Commish. When I call 911, I want Vic Mackey!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Watch this you will not be disappointed.

I have watched all of the Shield and all of Sons of Anarchy and the Shield is truly the better. Breaking Bad, Sopranos, The Wire, Bosch, Fargo, and Dexter are superlative crime shows but I must thank Shawn Ryan for this epic show that competes with these entertaining blockbuster stories.

Watch the pilot, you will be hooked. Fantastic ensemble show. Ends in an incredibly satisfying way. You need to see this show. Long live Lemonhead.
