See real people whose addictions and self-destructive behavior have brought them to a point of personal crisis and estranged them from their friends and loved ones. From heroin addicts to alcoholics, compulsive eaters to anorexics, you’ll meet people from all walks of life who have succumbed to addiction and are in grave danger of losing everything. At the end of each episode, an addict will be confronted by family, friends and a professional interventionist in a final chance to reclaim their life before it’s too late. There the addict will have a choice: go to treatment and get help or face exile and isolation from those who love them most.

Join average, every day looking people with their struggle with alcohol, controlled substances and mental illness. The first time you watch this show you will chill back with disbelief with the destructive, saddening and real results which come from a life under the control of addiction. Jugdement may even leave your thoughts as you are made aware of how traumatic experiences in these individual's lives, have shaped their various relief systems. The show Interventions comes to a refreshing turn as you see the individual faced with a choice: Life or Death. You later follow "the now turned patient" into the stage of recovery. The close of the show sometimes ends with amazing clips of the patient free from the pulls of their pass addiction.

    This season contains the amazing episode "Sylvia" featuring a melodramatic Southern soap star, who has fallen to the depths of alcoholism. Her story is captivating and remains my favorite episode of all time. (Plus, she's still sober as of 9/09/08!)
