This adaptation may be the truest to the original comics.

Have the movie at home and on my ipod too, even though for 1949 its a hell of a lot better than the crap on tv today

Incredible acting! And aside from the cheesy costumes, this is MUCH darker and more serious than the Adam West Batman and the Joel Schumacher Batman.
  • luv it!

As some one who grew up on the 1960's Batman TV show, these episodes from the 40's are a lot of fun to watch and well worth the season price of $14.99. I love the cheesy cloth costumes with the 3" beak on Batmans cowl, the "batmobile" is just a regular convertible car (what, no bat fins and fire coming out the exhaust?) and nobody seems to notice that Batman and Robin are driving around in Bruce Waynes car. Each episode ends in a classic "cliff hanger" moment. So stay tuned for the next exciting installment...just be careful to watch them in the correct order. The iTunes store has them out of place so pay attention to the descriptions and not the "track" numbers until iTunes fixes this. "Bam, Pow...Zaap!"
