Description

On the vibrant world of Caprica, in a culture close to our own, two dynamic families — the Graystones and the Adamas — live separately on opposite ends of society until brought together by tragedy. Daniel Graystone (Eric Stoltz), a computer engineering genius, is spearheading the development of artificial intelligence. Tragedy strikes him and his wife Amanda (Paula Malcomson) when their daughter Zoe (Alessandra Torresani) dies in a terrorist bombing. Also living on Caprica, deeply entrenched in a cultural heritage apart from the rest of civilization, is the Adama clan. The family is helmed by Joseph Adama (Esai Morales), a renowned criminal defense attorney, and father to William (Sina Najafi) and Tamara (Genevieve Beuchner). When Joseph’s wife and daughter perish in the same attack that befell Zoe Graystone, Joseph’s path soon crosses Daniel’s as they unite in grief. Daniel has discovered that Zoe, a computer genius in her own right, had managed to create a life-like avatar of herself, a perfect digital copy. Obsessed with the possibility of seeing his daughter again, Daniel implores Joseph to help him make Zoe’s vision a complete — and the fate of the human race is altered forever . . .

  • Great BSG Prequel...Shame discontinued

The BSG movies are terrible, which put me off from watching this spinoff/prequel. So glad that I gave it a chance, but equally disapointed that this was discontinued and there's no second or third season. BSG was such a huge hit, and now has such a large fanbase, it's time to demand that they bring this series back and conclude it... Band together and demand it!
  • worst show I've ever watched

I have put off watching this show for years for fear that i knew it wasn't going to be as good as BSG, and boy was i right. this show is nothing but pointless TEEN DRAMA meets BSG with endless droning on and on about how "i hate my family and i hate life and i hate being stuck in a robot body and i hate believing in more than one god". that right there is caprica in a nutshell. i have to admit i'm quiet saddened to see all these reviews that claim to love BSG and feel this show fits into that universe so well. i love BSG and this show is the red headed step child to the BSG family

Hard not to feel the threads of online connectedness and virtual/augmented reality in the real world heading toward the Caprica premise. Originally was semi-plussed on this series, but it does hook you on the people story plot line without a budget for high dollar cgi. Great envision of the origins of the downfall of humanity.

  • Intelligent Scifi, sadly unappreciated

This is another case of a show that was too intelligent for its audiences, containing too much political and social statements for it’s own good. Character development was good, not great, but the ideas and situations portrayed were very contemporary, and at times alarming. I wish it’d been given another chance, as it could’ve evolved in the a Star Trek TNG-level show.
  • Great addition to the BSG Universe

Great show. If you are a fan of BSG, than you will appreciate this show. Totally separate story lines, but similar storytelling.

This series was cut short in its prime; visually stunning and mesmerizing, what it lacked in plot, it made up in the plethora of beauty in its futurism. Its look at the "past", the lead in to Battlestar Galactica is well worth seeing in its visually stunning detail.
