I’ve always enjoyed the sixth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The third and fifth seasons rank 2 and 3 behind this one. There are large number of good to great episodes on here and the storytelling is well done for a majority of the episodes. Many of the obvious ones to watch include; ‘Relics, ‘Chain of Command’, the DS9 crossover in ‘Birthright’, ‘Fistful of Datas’ and 'Tapestry’. While I certainly understand ‘Chain of Command’ being a high mark and memorable two parter and beloved my most fans, I’m in the minority and have never really enjoyed the two-parter nor the storytelling. That doesn’t mean it’s terrible or not recommended, it’s highly recommended and a must-watch, it’s just not a pair of episodes I’d tell someone to view first. Just my own personal opinion. With that out of the way, here’s my personal list of episodes I enjoyed and watch over and over again. That list includes; ‘Relics’, ‘A Fistful of Datas’, ‘Quality of Life' (a well done Data episode with a great and memorable Picard line to Data in the end), ‘Aquiel’(Geordi gets a girl for a change), ‘Lessons’ (a great episode about Picard finding romance), ‘The Chase’ (I always found it to be a fun episode with Crusher playing a major role), ‘Frame of Mind’ (cool and well-done Riker episode). That’s just a small sample size from a well-done and memorable season when the series had hit it’s peak and was on a role. The overall package, whether purchased individually or as a whole is money that will definitely be well spent.
